Fidya & Kaffara

Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation is authorised to receive amounts for fidya/kaffara, as below. The funds will be used to feed orphans and their families, as per fiqhi requirements.

  • Kaffara for deliberately breaking the fast without a valid reason: £60 per day (for feeding 60 poor people)
  • Fidya of delaying the qada'a fast of Ramadan: £1 per day (for feeding 1 poor person)
  • Kaffara of breaking an oath/yameen or vow/nazr: £10 (for feeding 10 poor people)

Note: the prices are approximate, based on 0.75 kilogrammes of rice per poor person.
