Fatima Taher Jewad, Alcohol Ink Artist & Calligrapher 
 
Session 1 (24th June):
In this workshops we will explore a wide range of feelings including anxiety and low mood. We will learn practical evidence based techniques to help ourselves and our familes and will experience expressing our emotions through the medium of alcohol ink painting, drawling lessons from the art on letting go, connecting body and mind, and the power of mindfulness.
 
Session 2 (1st July):
This workshop will explore the impact that loss and bereavement can have on people. We will explore different understands of grief, change and loss, and how people can cope and heal from these experiences. Participants will create unique art pieces using alcohol inks as a creative way of capturing memories and managing grief and loss. 
 
Sessions for Men: 4-7pm
Dr Sarfraz Jeraj, Clinical Psychologist & Senior Lecturer in Psychology 
 
Session 1 (24th June):
This workshop will explore the emotional difficulties that people can experience in response to life’s challenges and how common these are, particularly among men. It will explore the different challenges men face in talking about mental ill health and some practical exercises on supporting emotional wellbeing and how to get more support if needed.
 
Session 2 (1st July): Due to unforeseen circumstances, this session has been postponed. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.
This workshop will explore the impact that loss and trauma can have on people, and particularly among men. It will explore different understandings of how people cope and can heal from loss and trauma. Participants will engage with the Japanese art form of Kintsugi as an example of how healing can be facilitated.
