Afghanistan Fund

Those who spend their wealth in Gods way by night and by day, secretly and publicly – they will have their reward with their Lord and no fear will there be upon them, nor will they grieve.

– (Quran 2:274)

Statement – May 12 2021

At Al-Ayn, we believe in empowering orphaned children in need wherever they may be. For the last 15 years, we have built a grassroots community in Iraq serving over 120,000 orphaned children thanks to people like you.

Over the last two years we have been working on the ground in other countries, to enable us to reach out to even more orphaned children in need. We are humbled to announce that Al-Ayn has now opened an office in Afghanistan. We are working hard to build sustainable, effective and dignified services, and will keep you informed about how you can support the various causes.

As a result of the recent bombing of the Sayed Al-Shuhada School in Dashte Barchi, Kabul, urgent relief is now needed to support the victims’ families and provide treatment for the wounded. We are on the ground and able to deliver your support.

Due to recent events, we would like to offer our supporters the opportunity to provide urgent support to victims of the attack.

Any excess funds will be allocated to our ongoing Afghanistan Fund to support orphaned children living in poverty.

100% of your aid will be spent on those in need.

Did You Know?

Our teams have been working behind the scenes in several countries in order to set up services that we can bring to you. This includes visiting locations to identify where we can serve, providing training to aid workers and delivering aid to orphaned children in poverty.

Why Afghanistan?

With over 50% of the population under 18, Afghan children continue to face trauma due to war, conflict, displacement, exposure to violence and natural disasters. In Afghanistan, there is an estimated of 3.8 million children who urgently need humanitarian aid.
The ongoing crisis has left many children orphaned and living in poverty. You can help rebuild their lives today.

Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation (UK) to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation (UK) we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

I want to Gift Aid all donations made to Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation today, and any donations I make in the future or have made in the past 4 years. Please also apply Gift Aid to donations placed in all the Sadaqa Boxes I have returned to Al-Ayn today, in the last four years, and to any of my returned boxes in the future. I confirm that donations placed in these boxes are my own, and that I will inform Al-Ayn if this is not the case for any boxes registered against my name. I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year it is my responsibility to pay any difference. I understand that Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation (UK) receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we’re entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.
