Al-Ayn Sadaqa Box

Though the benefits associated with all Sadaqa giving are endless, imagine the impact on the lives of orphaned children in poverty with every penny you gift.

In light of his general guardianship over orphaned children and the needy, Al-Sayyed Ali Al-Sistani has considered the act of putting money in Al-Ayn’s Sadaqa Boxes to be a transfer of ownership to him, on behalf of the orphaned children. Hence money placed in these boxes is considered Sadaqa Maqbootha (Received Sadaqa), and the rewards of Sadaqa are reaped immediately.

To ensure that the money placed in these boxes does indeed reach orphaned children in need, Al-Ayn has various checks and controls in place. For instance, locked Sadaqa Boxes must only be opened at an Al-Ayn office in the presence of two trained members of the team and a receipt issued to the box holder.

Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation (UK) to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation (UK) we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

I want to Gift Aid all donations made to Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation today, and any donations I make in the future or have made in the past 4 years. Please also apply Gift Aid to donations placed in all the Sadaqa Boxes I have returned to Al-Ayn today, in the last four years, and to any of my returned boxes in the future. I confirm that donations placed in these boxes are my own, and that I will inform Al-Ayn if this is not the case for any boxes registered against my name. I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year it is my responsibility to pay any difference. I understand that Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation (UK) receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we’re entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.
